Welcome!

I'm Katie, a wife, teacher, daughter, sister and friend...I am also a 90's kid through and through. Growing up in the 90's was great. Gellies, overalls, boy bands, butterfly clips, and TGIF were major parts of my formative years. My favorite show growing up (and let's be honest it's still a favorite) was Boy Meets World. Cory Matthews was totally sweet and dreamy and I loved the relationships he had with his family, friends and of course, Mr. Feeny (F-F-F-Feeny!). Boy Meets World was a classic coming-of-age story about Cory and his friends and the ups and downs of life. The title perfectly summed up Cory's journey as he encountered new life experiences and adapted.

Now that the 90's have passed and I have transitioned from childhood to adulthood I can still relate to the popular TGIF show. Except now, I'm not just adjusting to personal life changes--I am also adjusting to professional changes. I have been a teacher for almost 5 years and each year of teaching has changed me as an educator. I feel like every year of teaching is a fresh start to make changes and grow with my new group of students.

I'm still coming of age as a teacher and with that comes good days, bad days, questioning, laughs, ups, downs, tears of joy and frustration, and fun. It may be a messy journey (kind of like my desk), but it's mine. I would like to share it with you in hopes that you can learn from my ups and downs and maybe find some things that you would like to try in your own classroom.

Welcome to my teaching world as I continue to discover it myself...Teacher Meets World.

"Dream. Try. Do Good."
